R4TW - 2011 Projects

All donations given to the Run for the World International Fund supports projects for Community Development and Sports for Transformation.  Local R4TW organizers may choose to partner with a local charity and distribute funds accordingly.  Check with your local R4TW organizer for additional information.

Community Development – Over the last years many community development projects from around the world have been empowered through R4TW to carry out their vision and efforts to see their communities impacted and lives to be restored.  Projects that are assisted may include orphanages, street children projects, rehabilitation centers, community leadership training, schools, education programs, etc…

Sports for Transformation – Sports is an international language spoken and valued by all people groups.  Through training coaches to be community leaders and agents to invest in future leaders, sport can transform lives and bring hope to communities.  Projects that are assisted may include community sports leagues, coaches’ training, sports camps and tournaments, purchase of sports equipment in poor communities, etc…

Impact Stories:

Our Zambian Sports leader shares, “Sports connected us to unsuspecting people in the community. Little did we know that the physically challenged people wanted to play as well.  Now we are connected to more than 100 and we meet with them to play and encourage them. We also discovered that many disabled young people do not go to school. We are planning to start a school for them. One day after sports with them, Oliver, who is one of the physically challenged guys, surprisingly said “This was his first time to see Christians getting concerned about the disabled.”  He was very encouraged and hoped that it would continue.

Amor E Vida, social project partner in Brazil shares, “Maria Aparecida arrived with her three children (two, three and four years old).

Her husband was in prison and this 32-year old mother had not fed her kids for two days and was considering suicide. Through Amor E Vida she received hope and a chance to receive some food and ways to provide for her family.”
